I'll Make you Smile [Shunsui Kyoraku]

Shunsui wasn't quite sure why (Name) was upset, nor was he sure what the best way to cheer her up would be. All he really knew was that seeing such a sad, teary look on her face killed him.

"Hey, (Name)." Shunsui gently greeted as he took a seat beside of the glum female. (Name) only mutter something in return, making Shunsui's lips tug downward slightly. "How're you feeling?"

"Terrible." (Name) mumbled, her (e/c) orbs locked on the floor. Shunsui cautiously wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Much to his surprise, she pressed closer to him, allowing him to comfort her. Shunsui gave a slight smile.

"That's no good, (Name). It's not right to see such a beautiful woman look so sad." Shunsui comfortingly rubbed her arm. "What would you like to do? Or, is there anything you'd like? I'll do anything I can to get you smiling again."

(Name) glanced up at Shunsui after moving some of her (h/c) locks out of her eyes. A small smile came to her lips at the kindness he showed. "There's nothing you can really do for me." (Name) then shook her head and laid it against his side once more. Her smile had faded, showing her unhappiness.

"Really? There's got to be something I can do." Shunsui was persistent, yes, but with good reason. Yet, if (Name) pushed him away, he'd leave. That didn't mean he wouldn't give it his all.

"Thank you for trying, Kyōraku, but I'll be okay. You don't have to do anything for me."

"I don't ever have to do anything, (Name). I only really do what I want." Shunsui smiled. Paperwork was a prime example if this. He never wanted to do it, and therefore he didn't. "I want to help you. That's why I'm going to stay with you as long as you want me to."

"As long as I want you to?" (Name) echoed. "Do you really mean that?"

"Yes, I do." Shunsui placed a quick kiss on the top of (Name)'s head. "Now, what do you want me to do?"

After a brief moment of hesitation, (Name) decided to push the problem she had encountered earlier out of her mind. "Actually?" She glanced up at Shunsui. "I'm fine with us simply staying like this."

This caused a wide smile up come to the brunettes lips. He carefully lifted (Name) up, placing her on his lap. His arms circled around her waist while her head laid against his chest. (Name) adored the comforting embrace as well as the warm feeling that he caused to arise within her.

"Take it easy, (Name)." Shunsui whispered as he soothingly rubbed her back. She gave a slight smile as she shrugged, her eyes closing.

"Thank you, Shunsui." (Name) muttered against his chest. Shunsui felt a few tears slide from her eyes.

"Sleep well, (Name). I'm not going anywhere." A small, content sigh came from (Name).

"Good."
